Friday 21st March - walk ***** – Rendlesham Forest – sunny periods.

I had hoped to go windsurf foiling today with a good breeze from the East forecast but the wind eased back to marginal, a tad chilly on the coast and a poor tide for the River Orwell at Levington and as it is Friday, Maeva day I knocked windsurfing on the head, can’t wait about all dat waiting for the wind to blow so I packed a picnic for the three of us and we set off in the van to Staverton Thicks to show Maeva the piggies:) Maeva dozed off at Woodbridge but she woke when we parked at 11.30 to put her in the buggy to walk across the field to the footpath that leads to the ancient woods spooking a muntjac deer! We soon spotted the pigs, we got Maeva out of the buggy but she was a little nervous of getting too close! It was a pleasant surprise to see loads of sheep amongst the old trees, they were a little wary of as as the passed through the gate and ambled down the track and slowly walked deeper into the woods! It wa shard pushing Maeva along the sandy lane to the large lake where we walked to the end of the jetty! There was some goose wars going as they were not mixing well, we turned back here and returned the way we had come with the sheep returning to sit in the middle of the track! We drove the short distance back to the woodland car park at Butley Corner where we had our yummy picnic in our little campervan, Maeva enjoyed her dairylea sandwich, her favourite as she told us! She really did have fun, did some dancing too when we put a Spandua Ballet CD on, she had such a laugh washing her hands in a boil of water meaning Mag had to change her wet clothes while I once again picked up loads of discarded cans just chucked into the undergrowth, the world is sadly filled with morons!!!! We Maeva refreshed to walk down through the pines wood to see another field of pigs and she picks up loads of pine cones! Back at the van Maeva quickly falls asleeps as we stop at Dobies garden centre so Mag can buy a water lily and home. We have Maeva another hour as we have a cuppa and biscuit while Mags reads loads of books before we take her home, what a fantastic day, everyone had a great timetoo:)
